Overview

Domestic pets (such as dogs, cats, caged birds, fish or small mammals) are allowed.

You will need to ask permission before keeping any other animals.

If you have pets in your home, you must make sure that they do not cause a nuisance to your neighbours or anyone living in your area.

Shared entrances

If your home has a shared entrance, you must not keep cats or dogs (except for registered guide dogs or registered hearing dogs).

Animal fouling

You are responsible for cleaning up any dog or cat excrement.

We may fine people who persistently allow their dog to foul in public areas.

In such circumstances a fixed penalty notice can be served on an individual.

If you don't pay a fixed penalty notice, court action can be taken and you may be charged a greater financial penalty.

Keeping your pet under control

Continuous barking or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
